Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim are a professional baseball team that belong to Major League Baseball. The team is in the American League West Division, playing at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, California. There has been a controversy with the Angels with regard to their team name. The team plays in Anaheim, however the team name is The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. The team owner, Arte Moreno, a billionaire advertising guru, decided that he would be able to command more advertising dollars by being in a larger media market - Los Angeles - than being associated with a smaller city, Anaheim. In order to appease long-time Angels fans from Orange County, as well as to comply with an agreement the team has made with the City of Anaheim (to always keep Anaheim in the team name) they kept "Anaheim" at the end of the name. Many fans have complained that the name is contradictory, since Los Angeles is over 30 miles away from Anaheim. It is about an hour drive from Anaheim, as well.
