What are nakations?
A term that is being used more and more lately in the media and on the Internet is the term of "nakations." Nakations are simply naked vacations. This sounds really strange, but nude travel has become much more popular in recent years. People who spend a majority of their time nude call themselves "nudists". Nudists used to be the only people who traditionally would go to resorts where clothing was optional, but this trend has begun to change. Whether it's society loosening up about modesty and the naked human body, or if it's just a strange phenomenon, the fact that "nakations" are becoming more mainstream is a fact. If you search the Internet you'll find hundreds of resources for nude travel which includes cruises, resorts, and even a nude airline! A common misconception is that anything having to do with nudity is automatically sexual or pornographic. This could not be farther from the truth. In fact, a common saying among nudists is that "nude does not mean lewd." |
